1. Helped at the first opening also brought carpet squares for the student show to put the art works on. Number of hours would be about 4 to 6 out side of class not including the time during the show.
2. Yes I was I kept the blogs in a note book. The other writing assignments were easy to keep up with the only one I missed was because I was sick.
3.I made it to just about every class.
4.Going to the gallery and gathering all the information was the best assignment because I learned a lot about a local gallery and it also opened my eyes to other galleries around town.

Blog 7
The Botero exhibit seemed like it was very nicely planned out. It has a nice flow to it and it is easy to get around. The exhibit dose not look cheaply done and everything looks very elegant, neat and clean. As a short person I liked how I could easily read the labels and it was not awkward for me to stand on my tipy toes or squat down to read them. The text that was chosen for the labels is very easy to read and pleasing to the eye as well. The exhibit is very handicap friendly the works of art are big enough for anyone to see and they are at a comfortable height.
The entire exhibit is very nicely laid out and unified. The shapes of the spaces are very similar and are easy to follow around and they make the viewer want to continue going and viewing the next work. The coloring of the walls helps as well the colors are very nice and unified and help bring the exhibit together.
The exhibits message is to show how Botero evolved with his work. There is one piece in the exhibit that does not belong and it is the work that the museum put in there to make a connection to another but it is not Botero's. The exhibit seems that it wants you to see all of his paintings and then leads you into the room filled with all of his cast works. I believe that it would be obvious to visitors.
Overall I believe the exhibit is very nice for all ages and I thoroughly enjoyed it and learned a lot from it. There really aren't any negatives about the exhibit it made me feel very comfortable and they lay out helped me enjoy the art work even more. The only change I would do is taking the non Borteo sculpture out of the exhibit.

In the exhibit the area was kind of tight. It did not seem like if someone in a wheel chair were to go through they would be able to get around. They needed to spread things out a little more.The art work material along with the stands it is on do not look all that durable. The art work seems like it would be very fragile and then the stands they are on seem slightly cheap and not like they would be able to stand up very well.The exhibit was more for a taller person. Some of the stands the works were on were an uncomfortable height for me. If a handicapped person were to visit that exhibit they would not be able to view it very well at all.
The color palette in the exhibit is very brightly colored. I believe that the colors chosen along with they lettering and typography are very childish and in my personal opinion deter me from the exhibit. Yet the exhibit is very unified visually they did a good job making sure that everything about the exhibit went along with the art work even though it all seemed slightly childish. The visual style in the exhibit follows the type of art in the exhibit and it is very colorful

The works of art seem like they would interest children more than adults. As well as the crafts station that the exhibit has helps attract the younger ones.

The most popular for the older crowd would probably be the works of art and the least popular could be the crafts table. The objects in the crafts table could be misused because kids who are to young might throw the objects around. Also the books not being behind glass make people want to turn the pages. The one thing I would change about the space is making it bigger because there was not a lot of room in there at all.

When choosing the wattage and warmth of the bulb the type of art work and what is in the art work should be considered. Lights cast a color and can change the appearance of the work. Also all the lights in the gallery should be as close as possible so there isn't many different colors of lights blending together.
Raking light is used to reveal very subtle changes on art work so that the most minuet of details can be seen.
